As a doctor my main concern is the psychosocial impact of the pandemic n the lockdown on the patient, suspects and their families and the frontline healthcare workers.I hope that the situation will improve.

The real heroes are all doctors, nurses, the multitask workers who are on the frontline in handling the pandemic. The public should realise that they too should be responsible citizens and adhere to government directives. Public should refrain from spreading false information without verifying the authenticity of the news. The medical staff who deal with patients don't get to see their families for days. Also, they are at a risk of contracting the disease themselves.

Every individual who is in the forefront of fighting this war will have a story. However, for me what impresses me is the south Korean plan of containment and in India the Bhilwara model.

The government could handle the situation better. We need better coordination and cooperation between central and state government, more expenditure in health sector, better facilities for healthcare workers.

Red, the colour I associate to hope, to tomorrow - Dr. Ravin Rego (Medical Officer - Hospicio hospital)
