During the lockdown, the first reactions from every citizen was confusion and fear leading to panic. The first weekend of the lockdown itself, my 16-month-old toddler, fell sick and had to be rushed to the hospital in the middle of the night. From the police on the highway to the staff at the hospital everyone was very cooperative, and she was home within an hour. I was really amused on how people unite during a crisis.

My mother is and always will be my hero. She kept the house running with tasty food with limited resources. My sister too has been very helpful as she coordinates which shops in the vicinity has what stock of fresh produce.

My sister had the sixth sense that this will not be a day of lockdown when it was announced on March 22. She immediately shopped for groceries and other essential goods on Saturday itself. I kept the medicines cabinet full especially because of my baby.

Once markets reopen, I think people will think twice before buying and some will start hoarding. It also depends on the spending capability.

My colour is red as it is a vibrant colour and gives me hope and joy no matter what is going on around me – Dolcy (Reporter - Herald Publications)
